Salary and Benefits: This is a full-time, benefited Managerial 5 level position. Starting salary range: $82,820.00 - $93,623.00/annually, depending upon experience.

Job Summary: Core responsibilites include:

The Director of Enterprise Systems is responsible for leading the development and implementation of innovative software solutions to enhance student and faculty experiences.  This role involves overseeing the integration of enterprise systems, managing data analytics initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize operational efficiency. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement in our technological services.

Essential Functions

Essential Functions: this position is Exempt, i.e., is not eligible for compensatory or overtime pay provisions of the FLSA.

  • Strategic Planning and Leadership - Guide strategic planning and leadership by developing and overseeing long-term enterprise systems strategies that align with institutional goals.
  • System Design and Implementation - Ensure effective system design and implementation by overseeing the planning, development, and deployment of enterprise solutions that meet the college’s technical and operational requirements.
  • Operational Management – Oversee operational management by directing the day-to-day activities, ensuring system performance, and optimizing processes to support the college’s enterprise systems and IT infrastructure.
  • Data Governance and Compliance – Ensure data governance and compliance by establishing and enforcing policies, managing data security, and maintaining adherence to regulatory requirements for the college’s enterprise systems.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement – Foster collaboration and stakeholder engagement by facilitating communication, building partnerships, and aligning enterprise system initiatives with the needs of faculty, staff, and other key stakeholders across the college.
  • Other duties as necessitated by the ITS division or Institutional needs.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge

  • In-depth understanding of enterprise systems architecture and integration.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and compliance regulations (e.g., FERPA, GDPR).
  • Knowledge of current trends and emerging technologies in higher education IT.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycles and best practices.
  • Awareness of user experience principles and accessibility standards.
  • Knowledge of budget management and financial planning related to IT projects.
  • Experience with ERP systems, CRM platforms, and cloud-based applications is essential

Skills

  • Proficiency in enterprise application management and implementation.
  • Strong project management skills, including familiarity with methodologies like Agile and Waterfall.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills to address complex technical issues.
  • Leadership skills to motivate and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools and techniques for informed decision-making.

Physical/Mental Demands:

  • There may be multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, and personal computer use, which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor
  • An employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds to perform essential position functions
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery alarms, medical codes, or alarms).
  • Ability to enter text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a traditional keyboard.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 

Minimum Qualifications:   

  • A minimum of five to seven years of progressive experience in enterprise application management or IT leadership, preferably within an educational institution.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Preferred Qualifications:   

  • Previous experience specifically within community colleges or other higher education institutions, with a deep understanding of their unique challenges and opportunities.
  • Experience with specific enterprise applications (e.g., Banner, PeopleSoft, Colleague) and familiarity with emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning in an educational context.
  • Experience in data governance best practices and experience in implementing data management frameworks that enhance institutional effectiveness.
  • Experience in budget planning and management related to IT projects and enterprise applications.
  • Experience with T-SQL, C#, and networking concepts.
