This is a part-time position. 

 

Job Summary:


This position will be responsible for performing a variety of duties related to the maintenance, accountability, and distribution of tools used by students in the Automotive and Diesel Technology programs.  The employee in this position will use computer applications to perform the aforementioned duties.  This position will also be responsible maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the tool room and shop/lab areas.  In addition, this position will be require to prepare correspondence and reports related to Automotive and Diesel operations.

 

Compensation: $12.12 per hour.

 

Screening Date: Position is open until filled.

 

Start Date: As soon after screening as practical.

 

Essential Functions

  • Maintain and account for all automotive and diesel tools
  • Monitor and restock all consumables such as chemicals, nuts, bolts, etc.
  • Distribute and receive all tools for automotive and diesel classes
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of tool room and shop/lab areas
  • Receive and deliver materials, supplies and equipment to include vehicle parts
  • Operate computer using Microsoft Office
  • Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) book for products used in Auto and Diesel
  • Process documents and reports related to automotive and diesel tools
  • Follow instructions provided by instructors to satisfy the needs of students and customer 

 

Nonessential Functions:  

An employee in this position may perform some of these responsibilities on an infrequent basis

  • Perform other tasks that may be assigned based on contemporary institutional needs

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds or more
  • Ability to operate/drive a State vehicle
  • Ability to work between 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., Monday thru Friday 

 

Physical/Mental Demands: 

  • Lift 50 pounds or more
  • Operate/drive a motor vehicle

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Possess a current driver’s license

Preferred:

  • Certificate in Auto or Diesel or 2 years working experience in Auto or Diesel
