    This position is only available for LCCC students enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for the current semester.

    Job Summary: 


    Offer exceptional customer service to all students, faculty, staff, and other clients who visit or contact the Learning Commons. Manage documents to include filing, data entry, scanning, copying and processing. Answer the phone and take appropriate messages; answer and distribute email messages for follow up; assist walk-in, online, and telephone internal and external customers. Ensure all centers are clean and fully stocked for student, tutor, and customer usage. Update and maintain the Learning Commons websites. Deliver campus mail and Learning Commons materials to various campus offices and receive mail for interoffice delivery.  

    This position will also assist in the organization of the Learning Commons calendars, scheduling, and events.



    Start Date: Position is open until filled.


    Compensation: $8.92/hr.

    Essential Functions

    • Filing and alphabetizing documents
    • Using appropriate software application(s) to prepare/edit documents, spreadsheets, and presentations
    • Providing professional and courteous customer service via email, telephone, and walk-in to internal and external customers
    • Taking accurate messages as applicable
    • Regularly update the Learning Commons calendars and assist in the preparation of the upcoming schedules via a variety of software applications
    • Schedule appointments for students at any of the Learning Commons centers using a variety of software applications
    • Update and maintain websites for all Learning Commons programs, including the Student Success Center, Writing and Communications Center, Pi Shop: Math Help Center, PASS program, and Exam Lab, among others
    • Assist in the tracking of a variety of statistics and data
    • Provide other clerical duties as needed

    Nonessential Functions:   

    • An employee in this position may perform some of these responsibilities on an infrequent basis


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc)
    • Organizational and prioritization skills
    • Ability to interact on a professional basis with students, staff/faculty and visitors to LCCC
    • Capacity to carryout tasks as assigned
    • Courteous, clear communication skills
    • Must have the ability to keep information confidential



    • High School Diploma or GED

    • Current LCCC student enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for the current semester


    • One or more years’ experience in customer service
    • One or more years’ experience in higher education
    • One or more years’ experience working with a diverse and changing population of customers on a daily basis
