Job Summary:

 

The faculty member is responsible for the coordination, planning, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities. The faculty member is responsible for performing assigned duties during the day, evening, or weekend on the Laramie County Community College, Albany County Campus or other location as assigned.  A faculty member performs all other duties as directed by the Director of Academic Affairs of the Albany County Campus, Associate Vice President of the Albany County Campus, Vice President of Academic Affairs, or the President or designee.

 

In particular, the adjunct automotive technology instructor will be responsible for providing part-time instruction within the Laramie High School automotive facility per agreement between Laramie County Community College and Albany County School District #1.

 

 

Starting Date: January 17, 2017

 

Compensation: $700 per credit hour.

 

Essential Functions

Essential Functions:

  • Instruct courses assigned by full time faculty.
  • Provide students a copy of the syllabus for all courses taught.
  • Inform students of course expectations to include evaluation and attendance policies.
  • Advise students of progress throughout the course.
  • Report progress to full time faculty, college advisors and administrators.
  • Attend department meetings regarding curriculum and common course assessment.
  • Submit mid-term and final grades for courses taught through the college web portal (EaglesEye) as well as weekly grade book assessments within the high school learning management system (PowerSchool).
  • Provide laboratory demonstrations to ensure student retention and complete task related worksheets (includes set-up and tear down of mock-ups)
  • Other tasks may be assigned based upon the needs of both institutions.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products (e.g., Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
  • Understanding of service information systems (AllData).
  • Capable of lifting moderate to heavy objects.
  • Ability to operate various types of vehicles.
  • Understanding of automotive engine mechanical systems, ignition systems, fuel systems, electrical systems, computer control systems, steering and suspension systems, drivetrain components, brake systems, traction control systems etc

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Automotive Technician.
  • 3 years of automotive field experience.

 Prefered :

  • Certificate or Associate's Degree (A.A.S.) in Automotive Technology.
