    This is a part-time position, variable hours.


    Job Summary:

    To assist in the operation of the Intramural Sports program through officiating at selected Intramural Sports events. These positions require a mature individual with good communication, leadership, and conflict management skills.


    Compensation: $10.27 per hour, commensurate with experience. 


    Screening Date: Ongoing.


    Start Date: As needed, based on Intramural Sports event schedule.


    Essential Functions

    Be knowledgeable of all the Intramural Sports officiating rules and playing guidelines for their assigned sport(s).
    Enforces sport rules and program policies and procedures.
    If the sport is co-ed confirm proper number of males and females on the court/field at all times.
    Make fair and consistent calls.
    Pay attention to game at all times.
    Assist in set up and cleanup of equipment and facility for assigned sport(s).
    Wear proper attire to all games – Intramural Sports shirt.

    Reports all emergencies (Accidents/Injuries, Inclement Weather, etc.).
    Handles questions, concerns, and complaints of participants.
    Be respectful and professional to participants and fellow staff.
    Ensures outstanding customer service.
    Works cooperatively with other area of the department to achieve established goals.
    Assist with the development and implementation of all rules, regulations, and policies governing the Intramural Sports program, and mediate conflicts and official protests in conjunctions with the Intramural Sports committee.
    Attend regularly scheduled Intramural Sports staff meetings and training.
    Provides support for special events, as needed.
    Perform other Intramural Sports program tasks as assigned by the Intramural Coordinators.


    Physical/Mental Demands:

    While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to move around the field, gym or multi-purpose room.

    Employee must be able to move or lift up to 50 pounds to perform set up and take down functions.

    Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

    The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, there may be unexpected instances of somewhat loud sounds.


    Minimum Qualifications:
    High School Diploma or GED.
    Experience officiating or playing similar sports (for sports official position only).


    Preferred Qualifications:
    Current LCCC student enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.
