This is a part-time position.


Job Summary:


Monitor Physical Education facility and provide assistance to employees and students as necessary.  Interact with a wide range of users including LCCC employees, students, and community individuals.  Assist in preparing areas of usage for classes and/or athletic practices.


Compensation: $10.27 per hour, commensurate with experience.


Screening Date: Position is open until filled.


Start Date: As soon after screening as practical.


Essential Functions

Assist in monitoring the facility and groups using the facility to ensure safe and effective use. Ability to interact with a wide variety of users ranging from Children’s Discovery Center employees and children to senior citizens. 


Assist in setting up and taking down equipment including but not limited volleyball nets, tennis nets, and moving portable basketball baskets.


Assist in facility maintenance. Keeping the facility clean including cleaning of treadmills, benches and other related fitness equipment. Reorganize fitness equipment as needed to insure a safe environment for all users.


Check users for college identification, sign guests of users into facility and make appropriate identification cards as need. Complete hourly usage forms including head counts.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

A general understanding or the ability to learn how to use various pieces of fitness equipment-elliptical, recumbent bike, etc.

Ability to work independently and with little supervision.  

Ability to lift equipment up to 50lbs.

Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of users with diverse backgrounds and languages. 

Ability to react to unexpected situations in a professional manner to meet to needs of all users.

Ability to prioritize work. 

Must be dependable and punctual.

Demonstrated customer service skills.

An employee must frequently lift and/or move a minimum of 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds to perform essential position function.

While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to move around the assigned work space as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.  The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well. 

The noise level is the work environment is usually moderate; however; there may be unexpected instances of somewhat loud sounds.  



High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Basic knowledge/previous experience with exercise equipment.
Basic computer knowledge, Word, Excel, Outlook. 
A currently enrolled LCCC student carrying a minimum of 6 hours beginning with the upcoming semester.
