Under general supervision, provides instruction to students enrolled in courses with the Welding Technology program.  Performs other activities related to teaching such as assessment, evaluation and reporting student performance and progress in assigned courses in accordance with the College and School policies and procedures.  Assist with establishing and maintaining workforce partnerships, analyze training needs, and developing course/program materials. 


Other tasks may be assigned based on contemporary institutional need.

Compensation: $700 per credit hour.

Essential Functions

  • Conducts lectures, discussions, and other teaching activities to include promoting a safe environment
  • Collects data, evaluate and report student performance and progress in assigned courses
  • Participates in assessing the effectiveness courses and program
  • Assist in revising curriculum and updating program/courses and instructional materials
  • Schedules time to be available to students outside of scheduled class time
  • Cares for and maintains classrooms, labs, equipment, tools, materials and gas cylinders




 AAS/AS Degree or appropriate certifications + 10 years of work experience as a welding owner/operator, trainer or educator

  • Comprehensive understanding of welding including:
    • Thermal cutting and oxyfuel, shielded metal arc, gas metal arc, gas tungsten arc welding skills along with basic pipe welding
    • Working knowledge of OSHA and welding safety procedures
    • Training specific welding skills set IAW national certification standards


  • BS/BAS Degree and 10 years of work experience as a welding owner/operator, trainer or educator
  • Prior teaching experience at the high school and/or post-secondary level
